Holidays times are beautiful around the world but for me is always nostalgic. December 21st is my anniversary of arriving in the USA, and this year is the 21st year I get to celebrate the holidays with my husband. It also means that it's another year that I don't get to spend with my family in Cuba. Almost two years since I saw my mom last, and I still don't know when I might get to see her. Since June this year, you have seen me traveling primarily for business, and I wish I could squeeze in a trip to visit my family. You probably be asking: Why don't you? Because Cuba was closed until November 15th, when it reopened its doors to international tourism again. I immediately thought to get a ticket, but it was not even remotely affordable to fly there. As more airlines start adding more daily flights to the island, prices are dropping, and it's looking like April will be an excellent time to go. It would be great to join me on the journey to return to the island then. I wonder what kind of tour you would be interested in? Maybe a Women's Journey tour so you can support the local women-owned businesses. The great thing about visiting Cuba is people's connections with each other. On my last tour back in February 2020, I took a group of ladies to three cities on the island, and our tour guide traveled with us the whole time. I often stay in touch with the ladies and even go out for dinner and discuss the book they are reading each month, and a couple of months ago, they called me to ask how they could send money or food to Henry - our tour guide in Cuba. I told them that I had a connection that I used and shared with them. That gesture warmed my heart and proved my reason and my mission to continue to help the Cuban people, including my family, because every time I take a group, they all give something to my family. And for that, I'm very grateful to all of you. New Partnership and CertificationsIt has been a couple of challenging years for all of us worldwide, and I took the time to continue learning and educating myself about the travel partners I choose to work with. Without sharing my latest partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line, I could not finish another year. I completed my certification last Sunday, and I can't wait for you to experience their stunning ships in 2022. My question is to you: There is a whole world out there to explore. How would you like to see it? Make sure you call me or email me to start planning your adventure in the new year and beyond. About Sheyla Paz Sheyla was born and raised in Cuba.
