From Caribbean Romance to Wild Expedition: Two Journeys That Reminded Me Why I Love Travel

There are trips that simply feel like work… and then there are journeys that reignite your passion for what you do. My recent experience in Cancun for a Destination Wedding FAM trip and my upcoming expedition to the Galápagos Islands with HX are exactly that kind of reminder.
As a luxury travel advisor, I’m constantly researching destinations, inspecting resorts, meeting local partners, and experiencing itineraries firsthand so I can confidently guide my clients. But beyond the logistics and planning, travel always gives me something more personal: inspiration.

Cancun has long been one of the most requested destinations for weddings and celebrations, and after this FAM trip, I completely understand why.

The turquoise Caribbean waters, white sand beaches, warm hospitality, and endless resort options create the perfect backdrop for couples dreaming of a destination wedding experience that feels both luxurious and effortless.

During this trip, I had the opportunity to tour several beautiful resorts, meet wedding coordinators, and experience the level of service couples can expect when planning their big day in Mexico. What stood out the most was how customizable everything has become. Whether couples envision:

One of my favorite parts of the trip was seeing how resorts are creating immersive experiences beyond the wedding itself. Destination weddings are no longer just a ceremony — they are becoming full travel experiences where guests connect, celebrate, and create memories together.

While Cancun was all about romance and celebration, my upcoming journey to the Galápagos Islands will be something entirely different: raw nature, adventure, and exploration.

The Galápagos has been on my bucket list for years.
Located off the coast of Ecuador, these islands are famous for their unique ecosystems, volcanic landscapes, and incredible wildlife found nowhere else in the world. From giant tortoises and marine iguanas to blue-footed boobies and sea lions, the Galápagos is a dream destination for travelers who crave immersive experiences and meaningful connection with nature.
What excites me most about this trip is the expedition-style travel experience. Unlike traditional cruising, expedition voyages focus on education, sustainability, and exploration. Guests travel with expert naturalists, participate in guided landings, and gain a deeper understanding of the destination.
As someone who loves cultural immersion and adventure travel, this type of journey aligns perfectly with how I personally love to experience the world.

The Beauty of Contrasting Journeys
What I love most about these two trips is how different they are.  One celebrates love, connection, music, and luxury in the Caribbean.

The other invites travelers to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature in one of the planet’s most protected ecosystems.
