Colombia, Certification, and Salsa at Sea: Why Latin Travel Is Calling My Name in 2026 & 2027

This February I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Colombia on a business and educational trip that turned out to be one of the most inspiring experiences of my career. I returned home not only with unforgettable memories, but also as a Certified Colombia Destination Specialist, ready to design even more authentic and immersive journeys for my clients.
This trip was part training, part exploration, and part relationship-building with the people who make travel truly special.

Meeting the People Behind the Experiences
During the week, I had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with 26 suppliers from Colombia, including tour operators, hotel managers, and destination representatives.
These personal meetings are extremely valuable because they allow me to carefully select the partners I trust to take care of my clients when they travel.
From boutique hotels to luxury properties and cultural tour companies, every conversation helped me build stronger connections so I can offer better experiences, better service, and exclusive opportunities for my travelers.
Exploring Medellín, Cartagena, and BogotáOur itinerary included visits to three of Colombia’s most exciting destinations:

• Medellín – modern, vibrant, innovative, and full of life
• Cartagena – colorful colonial streets, Caribbean charm, and incredible cuisine
• Bogotá – rich history, world-class gastronomy, and fascinating culture

Every city offered something different, but one thing stayed the same everywhere we went:
the warmth of the people, the delicious food, and the passion for music and dance.
We enjoyed amazing local dishes, educational sessions with tourism leaders, guided tours, hotel inspections, and cultural experiences that reminded me why Colombia is one of my favorite destinations to share with my clients.
